2017 Summer Shoe Trends

2017 Summer Shoe Trends

So summer is right around the corner and I there’ve been some trends that have been popping out lately and I’ll tell you guys a little bit about them. But first before we get started if this is your first time reading my blog, hi 🙂 my name is Maayuk and I am the found of Mode Melanin. You can read a little bit more about me here. Alright let’s get started.

Mules

So the first shoe trends that I’ve been seeing  a lot are Mules. Mule is a French word for a style of shoe that is backless and often closed-toed. Mules can be anything from the range of high heel height to flat heel height. Guys these are so popular now almost anyone who is anyone in the fashion industry is wearing this, so if you’re trying to stay on trend then you need to get on this shoe trend. I really like them because they are so comfortable, it’s really chic so you can pair them with almost everything and it’s very good for on the go. You don’t have to think much with these shoes, all you have to do is just wear them and go. Here are some outfits that my favorite bloggers have worn with them.

Pom Pom Sandals

These are definitely  the new styles happening this summer. The reason I know these is because they were so popular at coachela and whatever is popular is going to be popular during the summer because I feel like coachela sets the trend for summer. These are so comfortable and beautiful looking and if you’re like we who likes to wear a majority of black and white then these are perfect for you because they’ll give you that extra color to your style. I love how people pair this with dress, skirts and shorts that have ruffles. I like that look because it makes it so rustic and effortless. These are a few of my favorite outfits with them on.

Platform Heels

This trend started last summer but it didn’t really pick up but this year it was super popular on the runway, because it was suo popular during fashion week I just know its going to be one of 2017 top summer shoe trends. I love this because it adds height (not that I need it) and as well as sophistication to just about any shoe that appears on the runways. It’s also classy and comfortable while still staying true to yourself. I love how Salvatore Ferragamo plays off her monochromatic looks with the shoes, it works really well as well as Proenza Schouler, Miu Miu, Gucci, and who did an awesome job bringing out this popular shoe trend in their own way.

Thick Booties

I’ve been loving this style ever since 2015, no lie! I knew it was going to be a thing but no one believe me 🙁 but that’s okay I’m glad everyone is loving this trend, I’ve been seeing a lot of bloggers getting into this and it’s not transferring over to the general public

Slider Comfort Fantasy

Flip-flops were once a huge thing on the streets, particularly in the ‘90s. Now, we have some funky sliders appearing instead, something we noticed last spring as well. They are flats with a laid back presentation and updated for the summer with sequins and floral designs. Dolce & Gabbana, Miu Miu and alot more designers are now leading the creation of the slider shoe trend.

Thank you for reading, leave a comment below if you are going to be picking up on this trend.
